ApexDesk Elite Series 71 Inch Desk Review – Is it worth it?

Standing desks have a ton of health benefits so there is no surprise they are gaining more and more popularity each day, and there are not a lot of them that are more popular than the ApexDesk Elite Series 71″ Standing desk. This standing desk from ApexDesk sports an ergonomic and sleek design and comes in several different colorways so you can easily find the one that will fit your room the best.

But, looks are not the most important factor when it comes to standing desks. The important thing with standing desks is that they should keep energy thought the workday better, will lower your risk of gaining weight as you will not be sitting the whole day and for those workaholics, the back pain is reduced.

However, all of these benefits come at a price. A very high one, as the high-end standing desks, can put you back a larger amount, and if you want to outflank that situation, that is where ApexDesk Elite Series 71″ Desk comes into play.

This desk falls mostly into the mid-range category, as there are a lot more expensive height-adjustable desks than this one. Nonetheless, not everyone who needs a standing desk can separate a big amount for it. So, we looked at how much value does this desk provides, does it work smoothly, is it durable to last a long time, and is it made from quality materials? If you are interested in the answers to these questions, stick along and see if the Elite Series from ApexDesk is a good choice for you.

Let’s jump into the review.

ApexDesk Elite Series 71

ApexDesk Elite 71 Inch Light Oak Desk

As you would expect, an electric height-adjustable desk comes with much more features than the standard ones. These include the dual-motor system, cable tray, ergonomic desktop, digital controller, and a steel frame.

The dual motors that are making the lifting of this desk possible, work quite fast, and more importantly, very quietly. Actually, they produce less than 50 to 60 decibels, which is a pretty small number for a standing desk. That means if you are working late at night, you can still adjust the desk height without the fear of waking someone at the house up. And the speed at which it moves is 1.3″ per sec. Pretty impressive. The height range is from 29″ all the way to 49″. For lower people, the default lowest height of 29″ can still be quite low, so that may be a problem.

The digital controller is found on the right side of the desk, just below the desktop, and has 4 presets that can be programmable and saved so you don’t have to find the perfect height every time. Just test the height, save it and you are good. Quite easy to use and works very smoothly. It comes at an additional cost though, but it’s definitely worth it, as it’s a magnificent time saver. With the standard controller, you will get two buttons that will allow you to move the desk up and down, but you won’t be able to save your desired heights.

The downside is that this desk doesn’t come with a cable management tray. You do get two slots, but if you want more you can get an additional one, that will set you back some amount, but we highly recommend it at it will help you get those cables out of your sight and keep your setup tidy.

ApexDesk Elite 71 Inch Desk has a sturdy and firm construction, and it must, because its frame has to hold a lot of weight, especially if you use it as a triple monitor desk. It can lift to 225 lbs, which is about 102 kgs; quite a good number, but it could’ve been more. It’s so well built that we were pretty surprised. We expected a solid construction, but the Elite surpasses our initial expectations.

The tabletop is made from a single MDF board and it’s one of the best we’ve seen. Sturdy and durable enough that it can comfortably withstand multiple monitors and all peripherals. It’s also scratch-resistant, which is a massive plus, so next time you put your keys on it, you shouldn’t worry that it will scratch.

Legs on the Elite Series are made from steel, as you would expect, and they give away a study impression. Actually, all the hardware used to make this desk is top-notch, so don’t worry about how long this desk will serve you.

Design and ergonomics

The tabletop of the ApexDesk Elite 71″ Desk comes in a superbly ergonomic design that will make your time spend behind the Elite much more comfortable and enjoyable. Most of that is due to the curve you see right upfront. That curve allows you to get closer to the screen, and if you are gaming, that means you will be much closer to the action. It has kind of a semi-gloss finish and it’s very nice to the touch.

The desk comes in five different color combinations, so you can get the one that will suit your surroundings and setup the best. The frames of the desk are black and white, and the top comes in several different finishes, with the light oak being our favorite one. ApexDesk Elite has a sleek and simple design that will make any space in which you put it more interesting and nice looking. Many people are fans of the design that this desk has, and we are too!

Assembly process

This standing desk is on the heavier side, 125 lbs to be exact, so it will be better if you had a helping hand when you assemble it. But, you can still do it alone, and it shouldn’t take you more than an hour, tops. It is a very easy process, with the only downside being the heaviness of the desk, but if you have some help, it will be done quickly.

  • Amazing design
  • Motors work quietly
  • Large tabletop
  • Durable

  • The cable management tray is sold separately
  • Weight capacity could’ve been higher
  • Lowest height is 29 inches

The ApexDesk Elite Series 71″ Standing Desk is one of the best in this price range. Sure, there are standing desks with better features and materials that also cost much more, but for this price range, the Elite Series surely doesn’t disappoint.

It’s a stylish desk that will make your home office a better-looking one and will give you many health benefits, and that is the most important. So, it’s not a huge surprise that we would recommend the Elite Series to anyone who needs a new standing desk. Sure, it does have some downsides but we feel like it provides great value and that, along with many other positive things about the ApexDesk Elite Series, makes us huge fans of this desk.
